Special Announcement
The Cathedral of Saint Ignatius Loyola serves as the central church of the Diocese of Palm Beach. The word ‘cathedral’ comes from the Latin ‘cathedra‘, meaning ‘seat’ – the seat of the Bishop.
Pope Leo XIV has appointed Most Reverend Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez as the sixth Bishop of Palm Beach. Bishop Manuel was ordained and installed on February 24, 2026.
As the Rector of the Cathedral, the Very Reverend Gavin J. Badway has been entrusted with overseeing the operations of the Cathedral and serving as the pastor to the parish that the Cathedral serves.
The Cathedral recognizes Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito as Bishop-Emeritus. He has lovingly tended to the spiritual needs of over 240,000 Catholics in 50 parishes across the Diocese
