ALTAR GUILD: Wash and press altar linens weekly. Volunteers assist on a monthly rotation basis. Special instructions are provided.
ALTAR SERVERS: Youth assist the priest at Mass and other liturgical functions. Children who have received their First Communion are eligible to serve.
BEREAVEMENT GROUP: Help and encouragement after the death of a loved one. Grief Share is a special weekly support group designed to help you rebuild your life.
CATHEDRAL GIFT SHOP & CAFÉ: Parishioners volunteer to work in our Parish Shop which is open during the week from 9:00– 3:30 Contact office@cathedralpb.com
CHILDREN’S LITURGY of THE WORD: Seasonally: Children are dismissed from the 10:30 Mass to go to the Sacristy where they hear about the Readings and Gospel at their age level. Adult volunteers are needed on a rotational schedule. Background screening and Training Video is required Contact: Lucy at Lpratt@cathedralpb.com
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: We have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Friday, 9-5, along with Divine Mercy at 3pm. First Fridays of the month we have Bi-Lingual Adoration, Praise & Worship from 7 – 8 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary is held at 6:30 p.m.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION: Assist the priest to distribute Holy Communion at Mass and bring Holy Communion to parishioners either in a local hospital, nursing facility or at home. Training sessions are required and are provided by the parish.
FAITH FORMATION/RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Members of the Parish volunteer to teach or assist in the religious education of our children in the Catholic faith. Background screening and Training Video is required. Contact: Lucy at Lpratt@cathedralpb.com
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Is a men’s Catholic service organization that serves people on the local parish level as well as the national and international levels. Watch Bulletin for our many events. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
LECTORS: Proclaim God’s Word to the parish community at Mass and other services. Men and women, who are good readers with strong voices, are eligible to be considered as lectors. Training is provided. Contact: Alissa Morel at cathedralpblectors@gmail.com
MEN’S FELLOWSHIP GROUP: Welcome all men on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. for coffee as they discuss the readings for the upcoming Sunday.
PARISH OUTREACH & FOOD PANTRY: An effective means for parishioners to donate their time, talent, and resources to help our neighbors who are in need. Donations for the Food Pantry can be dropped at the Food Pantry or the parish office.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: Meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. Shawls given to nursing homes, Veteran’s hospital and baptism shawls for babies and adults, so if you love to knit or crochet or would like to learn how this ministry is for you.
RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Welcomes all who want to either enter the Catholic Church, those who need to finish their Sacraments or those who just want to learn more about your Catholic Faith. We meet weekly on Tuesday’s from 7 pm until 8:15 pm. Contact: Greg Pratt at gpratt@cathedralpb.com
RESPECT LIFE: The purpose of this group is to uphold the teachings of the Catholic faith that life is sacred from the moment of conception to natural death.
SMALL GROUPS: Parishioners join at home or at the parish for fellowship and to discuss the upcoming readings of the week. Contact the Parish Office for more information to join.
SUNSHINE MINISTRY: This is an outreach group to make phone calls to the homebound or any other parishioners who may be unable to attend Mass or just would appreciate talking with one of our team members. If you want to help reach out or know of anyone who you would like us to call, contact the parish office.
USHERS/GREETERS: Volunteers serve primarily at Sunday Masses to greet people, show them to a seat, hand out bulletins, collect the offering, direct people where to receive Holy Communion. They are available to assist in emergencies.
VOCATION’S MINISTRY: Central Deanery group who meet and implement ideas for growing the Vocations Ministry for the area parishes.
WOMEN’S GUILD: This women’s social group is involved in helping the Parish. They meet monthly, seasonally, and host many different events. They also fundraise for the parish, veterans and homebound.
WOMEN’S SCRIPTURE STUDY: A weekly women’s discussion and social group that’s held on Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. to discuss the upcoming readings of the week.
